Jon J. Kangos
Jon Kangos has been with Severud Associates since he started as an engineer in 1979. He advanced to associate in 1985 and was elevated to senior associate in 2005. In addition to possessing a deep understanding of conventional structural systems, Jon has become an expert with historical construction types such as terra cotta tile arches and cast iron framing. He has extensive site experience and is adept at handling issues as they arise in the field. Among the many impressive projects Jon has engineered are the redevelopment of the existing office building at 390 Madison Avenue and conversion of the historic James A. Farley post office building into Moynihan Station, both in New York City, the 101 Hudson Street office building in Jersey City, New Jersey, and Terminal A-West (formerly the US Airways terminal) at the Philadelphia International Airport in Pennsylvania.
Jon has been a leader of catastrophe-response teams and has performed several post-event assessments. He earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Cornell University.
