Alexander H. Azero, PE

Associate

 

Alexander Azero started at Severud Associates as a summer intern in 2014 and returned full-time the next year. In 2019, he progressed to senior engineer and advanced to associate in 2021. Alex has mastered the design of many structural materials and is particularly well-versed in the renovation of structural steel structures and historical framing systems. Alex made significant contributions to the Museum of Modern Art expansion, the Moynihan Train Hall–J.A. Farley Post Office redevelopment, and renovation of 780 Third Avenue, all in New York City. His other recent work includes the 100 Vandam Street overbuild and renovation and One Vanderbilt Avenue, both in Manhattan, and Phillips Exeter Academy’s Goel Center for Theater and Dance in Exeter, New Hampshire.

 

Alex is also involved with professional organizations, including the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Concrete Institute, American Institute of Steel Construction, and the Structural Engineers Association of New York, where he is a past member of the Student Outreach Committee.

 

Alex is licensed as a professional engineer in New York. He earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Lehigh University and a Master of Science in civil engineering from the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York.
