Louis A. Occhicone, PE
Louis Occhicone started his career in 1968 at Weiskopf & Pickworth (W & P) and was named one of W & P’s managing partners in 1992. While there, he worked on many renowned projects such as the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. In 2002, he and the staff of W & P became a part of Severud Associates. Since then, Lou continues to apply the wealth of knowledge he has acquired during his more than 50 years of professional experience. His long list of visually striking projects includes the Kimmel Center for University Life at New York University and the LCT3 Claire Tow Theater addition at Lincoln Center, both in New York City. Lou is a past director of the New York Association of Consulting Engineers (now the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York, (ACECNY).
Lou is co-author of the chapter, “Tall Buildings,” in E. H. Gaylord & C. N. Gaylord (eds.), Structural Engineering Handbook (3rd ed.) published in New York by McGraw-Hill in 1989.
Lou is licensed as a professional engineer in New York and three other states. He earned a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Manhattan College.
