Oliver Thiessen, PE


Oliver Thiessen joined Severud Associates in 2006 as an engineer. In 2012, he progressed to senior engineer and since 2015, has been providing service to clients as an associate. Oliver is well versed in designing a variety of structural systems and employing cost-effective materials and is becoming an expert at medical facilities and hotels. Through his extensive experience working with existing buildings, he has also become particularly adept at engineering the installation of mechanical equipment. Oliver has contributed to many challenging projects, including the mixed-use building at 1880 Boston Road, the World Center Hotel conversion, and NYU Langone Health’s Ambulatory Care Cobble Hill facility, all in New York City.

Oliver is licensed as a professional engineer in New York. He earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Columbia University.
