Simona Botas, PE
Simona Botas came to Severud Associates in 1997 after working for ten years as an engineer in her native Romania. She advanced to associate in 2005 and since 2009 has served clients as a senior associate. Simona is well versed in the design of many structural systems such as tensile membranes, glass facades, and curtain wall systems and has a particular affinity for transportation facilities. She has engineered and managed many large-scale projects, including the redevelopment of the George Washington Bridge bus station and the mixed-use building at 851 Avenue of the Americas, both in New York City, as well as the redevelopment of Terminal A and modernization of Terminal B at the Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey.
Simona is licensed as a professional engineer in New York. She earned a Master of Constructions from the Institute of Constructions (now Technical University of Civil Engineering) in Bucharest, Romania.
