This combined fire/EMS station, which houses personnel, vehicles, equipment, and support functions, is framed in structural steel with concrete fill on metal deck. To accommodate site conditions, Severud Associates designed the foundation as framed slabs supported by grade beams and pile caps. Concrete-filled steel pipe piles extend below the liquefiable soil layer.
