This two-story police station with basement has a foundation of timber piles with concrete pile caps, which support a framed, reinforced concrete slab on grade. In the design, Severud Associates chose structural steel framing to support floors of metal deck with concrete fill and a roof of metal deck. Rigid moment frames are used to resist the lateral wind and earthquake forces.
