SUNY College Old Westbury Academic Office Building

Shared by staff, faculty, and students, this four-story, steel-framed building redefines a campus entrance. Severud Associates’ design includes feature stairs at each end of the 490-foot structure that were engineered to deliver lateral loads to the foundation—no other bracing occurs at the lowest level. Architecturally exposed steel was used for atriums, canopies, and bus stops.
