H&M Store 435 Seventh Avenue

Severud Associates designed this three-story, steel retail building to support a future 20-story office tower. The foundation is mainly spread footings with drilled caissons used to limit impact on an adjacent structure. Rock anchors prevent potential uplift caused by lateral loads. Moving an existing subway station entrance into the building’s footprint was a large part of the project.
