Northwell Health South Shore University Hospital Expansion

This six-story steel-framed expansion will house patient wards, operating rooms, and surgical prep and recovery areas; a two-level bridge, supported by V-shaped columns, spans to an existing building. Severud Associates’ design accommodates enclosing the open roof in the future as a seventh floor; currently, 18-foot-high screen walls conceal the mechanical equipment located there.
