Careful selection of new structural and cladding materials reduced additional loads and minimized the need for reinforcement in this gut renovation. Severud Associates designed shear stud details that allow existing beams and slabs to work in composite action where more capacity was necessary. A new gabled roof hides mechanical equipment and creates a dramatic appearance.
