Severud Associates designed this 32-story hotel with a five-level podium that includes long-span transfer girders to create column-free public spaces at its base. Cast-in-place concrete, post-tensioned concrete, and steel framing systems were used in the structure. Due to its waterfront site, the structure is supported on 60- to 70-foot-deep caissons extending to bedrock.
