Janice A. Clear, PE

Associate

 

Janice Clear started her career as an engineer in 2003, working in White Plains, NY. She joined Severud Associates in 2006 and soon progressed to senior engineer. In 2015, she began providing structural engineering services to clients as an associate. In her more than 15 years with the firm, Janice has designed structures using most structural systems and materials and has worked on many museums and medical research laboratories. She also has extensive experience with renovations and is adept at engineering alterations that involve historical construction types such as terra cotta tile arches and waffle slabs. Janice has an extensive portfolio of challenging projects such as the Moynihan Train Hall–J.A. Farley Post Office redevelopment and expansion of the Museum of Modern Art, both in New York City, and the University of Connecticut’s Engineering & Science Building in Storrs, Connecticut. Her other significant projects include Weill Cornell Medicine’s Belfer Research Building, the renovation of the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, and several projects for NYU Langone Health, all in Manhattan.

 

Janice is licensed as a professional engineer in New York. She earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Tufts University and a Master of Science in civil engineering from Columbia University.
